Fraudsters have recently called business customers using “spoofed” phone numbers that appear to be from East Cambridge Savings Bank. In some cases, they falsely claim to be verifying ACH transactions, then try to access your business online banking to initiate unauthorized ACH transfers.

To help reduce your risk, please keep these best practices in mind:

  • Be cautious of any unsolicited calls claiming to be from your bank, even if the caller ID appears legitimate
  • Never share online banking credentials, one-time passcodes, or authentication codes over the phone
  • Independently verify the caller by hanging up and contacting your bank using a trusted phone number you already have on file
  • Review your ACH activity and account balances daily, and monitor all accounts closely
  • Report any suspicious calls immediately to your banker

ECSB will never call to ask for personal information, online banking credentials, passwords, or authentication codes. If you receive a suspicious call or communication, please contact us directly at 1.866.354.ECSB (3272).
