Cambridge, Mass. – East Cambridge Savings Bank today announced that they received three recognitions in the Banker and Tradesman “Best of 2024” Awards. This annual poll of Banker & Tradesman readers is an opportunity for people from across the region to cast their vote for their favorite service providers in the banking, real estate, and professional services sectors. The bank received a silver award in two categories: best community bank and best commercial lending bank, as well as the bronze award for best mortgage provider. Votes were cast online during the late summer, and results were announced in November.

“We are truly honored to be recognized in three important categories in this year’s Banker & Tradesman ‘Best of’ awards. It’s very gratifying to be selected by our customers, employees, and members of the public as one of the best community banks and lenders in the area,” said Timothy E. Bombard, the bank’s president and chief executive officer. “East Cambridge Savings Bank has been proudly serving the needs of its customers and communities since 1854, and as we mark 170 years in business, it’s particularly exciting to receive these awards this year. To those who voted for us and supported us, we sincerely thank you. For those who may not have heard of us or worked with us, I eagerly invite you to reach out to our capable team and see why so many have entrusted us with their banking needs.”

According to the Boston-based publication, the annual best of awards is a “subjective, not objective” poll, but the contest does “measure the loyalty and satisfaction readers have with vendors" and that "it is an opportunity for readers to speak up for those providers they believe are the best.”

The three Best of 2024 awards add to the list of recognitions that the bank has received this year. In May, East Cambridge Savings Bank received two gold awards for marketing campaigns at the New England Financial Marketing Association (NEFMA) spring conference. Additionally, for the ninth consecutive year in a row, the bank received a Corporate Citizenship Award from the Boston Business Journal for being one of the top corporate charitable contributors in Massachusetts in 2023.
