Beginning January 1, the Bank will simplify its personal checking offerings to one account: East Cambridge Checking. The new product, which will be the Bank’s only personal checking account going forward, will have no monthly fee, pay interest, and reimburse all ATM fees at any ATM nationwide. Additionally, East Cambridge Checking will feature all the conveniences that customers expect including a highly rated mobile app, instantly available debit cards, money management tools, and advanced debit card controls.

We’ve eliminated the confusing comparison charts and cumbersome requirements that have become all too common in personal banking,” stated Eva Soares, senior vice president and head of retail banking. “As a mutually owned bank, we are empowered to make decisions and design financial services that are focused on customer conveniences rather than monthly fee income.”
As of the first of the year, the account can be opened online or by visiting one of the Bank’s 10 locations.
