Bank President and CEO presenting donation to Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services The following is a press release issued by Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services:

The East Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation, the charitable arm of East Cambridge Savings Bank, recently made a $5,000 grant to support the Money Management program at Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES). This grant is matching the first $5,000 donated to this innovative program that supports local seniors.

The generous donation will support the independence of local older adults who need assistance with bill paying, bank errands, and other essential tasks.

“We are so grateful for the support of East Cambridge Saving Bank,” said SCES Executive Director Paul Hollings. “Our Money Management program relies on local support, and we deeply appreciate East Cambridge Savings Bank stepping up to help us provide this vital lifeline for our older neighbors.”

“The Bank is honored to partner with Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services to support the Money Management Program, which connects volunteers with local senior citizens to help them with vital financial and banking tasks,” said Gilda M. Nogueira, President and CEO of East Cambridge Savings Bank. “We admire the broad range of programs and services SCES provides to meet the needs of our elderly neighbors. These initiatives are crucial to keeping seniors safely in their own homes and connected with the community.”

East Cambridge Saving Bank has generously supported SCES programs since 1995.

The SCES Money Management program serves more than 60 older adults in Cambridge and Somerville who need assistance due to failing eyesight, memory loss, or disability.
