ARLINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS, November 18, 2005 --- Representatives from
East Cambridge Savings Bank met with Arlington town officials at 105 Broadway, for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of construction of the Banks seventh banking facility and to formally welcome East Cambridge Savings Bank to the town of Arlington. Also in attendance were representatives from Menders, Torrey & Spencer, Inc., architects for the project, and Ford Construction Co.
The new 10,500-square foot, two-story branch will feature two drive-up tellers, a drive-up ATM, night deposit box, safe deposit boxes, 15 on-site parking spots, and a child friendly play area in the main lobby.
"I am pleased to be able to welcome to the Town of Arlington, East Cambridge Savings Bank, a bank with a strong record of community involvement. We look forward to the Bank's active participation in and support of the community," said Jack Hurd, Arlingtons Chairman of the Board of Selectmen.
"We are thrilled to extend our community banking services to the town of Arlington. It is our hope that our new state-of-the-art building will foster a unique customer-friendly banking environment for residents and businesses in the area," said Arthur C. Spears, president and chief executive officer of East Cambridge Savings Bank. "Additionally, we have many customers who live in Arlington and the neighboring towns and this new banking facility will make visiting the Bank more convenient for them."
East Cambridge Savings Bank, incorporated in 1854, provides both businesses and individuals with a full line of banking services.
